Qualifications & Requirements
BS degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major
Successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian
Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration; candidates eligible for registration may be hired with the understanding that registration will be achieved within 90 days of hire
Must have active Dietitian license with the state of Texas.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
Works well with others in a team-oriented environment
Preferred 1 year experience. |
| Duties: | Responsibilities:
Performs nutrition assessment and follow up assessments for both inpatients and outpatients.
Develops patient’s Nutritional plan of care.
Assists in developing and implementing patient and staff nutrition education.
Participates in interdisciplinary clinical meetings that relate to nutrition, including departmental quality improvement activities.
Participates in patient/customer satisfaction .
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs related to clinical nutrition and training seminars.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. |
